Hello, welcome to the second post of my new blog, A Painter's Metamorphosis. I'll be writing about my experience with my new daily art practice.
My goal is not to make art every single day. I know that's not realistic for me. My goal is to ENGAGE with art every day. Read more in my first blog post here.
Last night I got home after taking my grandmother to the doctor and the last thing I wanted to do was paint.
Something totally changed my mind, though- a NEW thing.
A package was on the counter. Could it be my new jumpsuit I bought for painting? (I bought the jumpsuit from Pact because I care about sustainability).
I kept making the excuse that I couldn't paint because I didn't want to get my clothes dirty. (There is some truth here- but my rational self is eye rolling at my excuse-making self- thanks #neurodivergence)
Anyway, I bought the jumpsuit. I chose a cream-colored one so I could get it messy with whatever art supplies I decided to play with that day.
When I saw my package, which I knew had my jumpsuit in it, my childlike mind was EAGER to put it on and get it messy.

Something so simple changed my whole night with art. I got myself something I was excited about trying and it led me to a new discovery.

My new discovery is how much I enjoy painting on brown craft paper.
More on that in the next post.
Stay tuned to watch me transform.
